How often and how long will I need to get allergy injections?

Initially allergy injections are given on a build-up schedule to decrease the risk of a severe allergic reaction and allow your immune system to gradually change. The build-up schedule typically takes 9 months to complete. After completing the build-up schedule, you are in the maintenance schedule. Maximal benefit is achieved if the maintenance schedule is continued for 3-5 years.
